Production Labeling Specialist

About the Job
Polytek® Development Corp. is a leading manufacturer of mold making and casting materials. Polytek® is currently looking for a highly motivated, experienced, and extremely organized individual to join our rapidly expanding company. 

This role supports our manufacturing operations by printing product labels, package inserts, and other production documents used throughout our facilities. We are looking for someone who takes pride in producing accurate work, follows procedures carefully, and understands the importance of quality and consistency.

No label-printing experience is required. We are willing to train the right candidate who demonstrates reliability, strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn.

Duties:
Label Printing & Management
  • Print product labels, package inserts, and production documents for manufacturing operations.
  • Follow production schedules and batch sheets to ensure the correct materials are printed and available when needed.
  • Prepare labels and inserts for Polytek brands and customer-specific products.
  • Create and print labels using company software and systems.
  • Support production teams by providing accurate labeling and packaging materials.
  • Assist with label printing needs for other Polytek locations as needed.
Quality Control
  • Carefully inspect printed labels to ensure information is accurate and easy to read.
  • Perform quality checks throughout printing runs to identify mistakes before materials reach production.
  • Look for issues such as missing information, alignment problems, color inconsistencies, smudges, streaks, or printing defects.
  • Maintain accurate records and follow established procedures to support quality and regulatory requirements.
Organization & Inventory Management
  • Organize and maintain label inventory and storage areas.
  • Monitor label stock, packaging documents, and printer supplies.
  • Communicate supply needs to Purchasing to prevent production delays.
  • Keep work areas clean, organized, and efficient.
Equipment Operation & Maintenance
  • Operate digital label printing equipment.
  • Perform routine cleaning and basic maintenance on printers.
  • Replace printer supplies as needed.
  • Identify and report equipment concerns while assisting with basic troubleshooting.
Team Collaboration
  • Work closely with Production, Purchasing, Marketing, Regulatory Affairs, EHS, and other departments.
  • Communicate proactively when issues or concerns arise.
  • Help ensure labeling materials are available to support production schedules

Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, squat, and reach throughout the workday.
  • Ability to lift and/or move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to climb short flights of stairs or ladders as needed.
  • Ability to visually inspect printed materials, including reading small text and distinguishing colors.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) throughout the shift.

Required Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in manufacturing, warehouse operations, production support, printing, administrative work, or a related field is helpful but not required.
  • Training will be provided for equipment, software, and company processes.

The Production Labeling Specialist plays an important role in ensuring our products are accurately labeled and ready for production. Success in this position depends more on attention to detail, reliability, organization, and a willingness to learn than on prior label-printing experience.
